Software can produce a form, but it does not decide thickness, connections, stone clearance, editability, assembly logic, or production readiness for the designer. This masterclass focuses on the gap between knowing commands and building a professional CAD model.

    File structure, units, layers, dimensions, references, and decisions before modelling.

    From curves to controlled form

    Curves, proportion, symmetry, and moving from 2D geometry into volume without losing control.

    Surface and solid modelling

    Choosing the right modelling path, building clean forms, and managing revisions.

  4. 04

    Stones, seats, and connections

    Stone placement, prongs, cutters, clearances, and the relationship between parts.

  5. 05

    Manufacturability review

    Thickness, tolerance, assembly, weak points, and the checks required before printing or handoff.

    Final project and presentation

    Develop, critique, revise, and prepare one coherent model for presentation or production development.

The course project

One project, from first decision to a defensible model.

Each participant advances a defined project. The goal is not to reproduce one identical file, but to explain the logic of the form, tool choices, and technical decisions, then use critique to produce a more resolved model.

Mobina Mohammadvali has more than eight years of experience in digital jewellery design and has taught the field for the past three years. Her work focuses on precise modelling, contemporary form, and the relationship between technology, structure, and concept. In 2026, her Connection jewellery set received a Bronze A’ Design Award.
