This is not an undefined promise: twenty sessions, three hours each, Sundays from 17:00 to 20:00. Four tracks—from fine jewellery and men’s rings to surface modelling and concept-to-production work—shape sixty hours of Matrix 9 training with Mobina Mohammadvali.

The programme at a glance: twenty Sundays, sixty hours

The official course page records the confirmed timetable: in person at DIDAR Space in Tehran, Sundays from 17:00 to 20:00, across twenty three-hour sessions. The start date, capacity, tuition, payment terms and entry level remain unconfirmed and should not be guessed.

20 / SESSIONS

Twenty sessions

A weekly rhythm for practice, feedback and revision between meetings.

03 / HOURS

Three hours

Each session, creating sixty in-person contact hours in total.

SUNDAY

Sundays

From 17:00 to 20:00 at DIDAR Space in Tehran.

SOFTWARE

Matrix 9

The specified course version—not a placeholder or an unnamed release.

The technical reality: Matrix 9 dates from 2017

Gemvision/Stuller introduced Matrix 9.0 on 12 April 2017, describing it as 3D CAD software for original jewellery design. That announcement named features including Smart Pattern, Clayoo 2.5 and an updated Texture Builder.

Stuller’s official transition page now presents Matrix among its legacy products. Matrix 9 should therefore not be marketed as the latest release. This class deliberately teaches that version, but operating-system compatibility, installation, licensing and minimum hardware must be clarified before final enrolment.

THE TRANSFER TEST

If teaching covers only button locations, it ages with the interface. If it teaches geometry, form and production logic, the skill can outlast the version.

01 — Fine Jewelry CAD

Stone setting, rings and jewellery sets are connected problems. A stone seat is not merely a hole in a model; it changes height, clearance, prongs, tool access and the finishing route. In a jewellery set, the same decisions must form one visual language across different scales.

The objective is refined form without losing geometric control: a model that looks resolved, remains editable and supports an informed conversation with production.

02 — Men’s Ring CAD

Signets, stone-set rings and contemporary forms create different relationships among volume, weight, comfort and identity. A sound men’s ring is not simply another form made larger; skin contact, shank thickness, top balance and future resizing need attention from the start.

This track connects assertive formal language with wearable, manufacturable detail—where a millimetre can change weight, cost and the experience on the hand.

03 — Surface Modeling for Jewelry

Rhino’s jewellery material emphasises free-form modelling with curves and surfaces. Understanding those foundations also matters in Matrix 9 when advanced forms enter the brief. A clean surface begins with controlled inputs: purposeful curves, testable continuity and a route that keeps later revision possible.

Complexity is not quality by itself. The question is whether a complex form remains controlled, closes into valid volume and behaves sensibly in printing, casting, finishing and contact with the body.

04 — Concept to CAD

An idea entering CAD must become a sequence of decisions: which proportion stays fixed, which surface can move, where stones and connections belong, and how the file reaches production. Form development is the bridge between a mental image and measurable geometry.

01Idea

Define use, audience, body, stones and project constraints.

02Form

Build options and settle proportions before detailing.

03CAD

Develop precise geometry with a structure that remains editable.

04Validate

Check thickness, joins, weight, setting and closed volume.

05Produce

Hand off file, units, version and making notes clearly.

What does a twenty-session rhythm make possible?

The week between sessions matters for repetition and revision. Participants need time to build their own file, encounter a problem, receive critique and redesign an earlier choice. Sixty hours become valuable when work between sessions is part of the process, not when class becomes passive watching.

The Matrix 9 Masterclass page with Mobina Mohammadvali holds the confirmed curriculum and timetable. Interest registration is open; the start date, capacity, tuition, prerequisites and installation guide will be published there once finalised.

Frequently asked questions

Which software does Mobina Mohammadvali’s masterclass use?

The course specifically uses Matrix 9, released in 2017 and now considered a legacy product.

How many sessions are there, and when are they held?

Twenty three-hour sessions on Sundays from 17:00 to 20:00: sixty contact hours in person at DIDAR Space in Tehran.

What does the course cover?

Fine Jewelry CAD, Men’s Ring CAD, Surface Modeling for Jewelry and Concept to CAD are the four confirmed tracks.

Will Matrix 9 install on any laptop?

No such claim has been published. Because Matrix 9 is legacy software, compatibility, installation and minimum hardware requirements must be checked and announced before final enrolment.
